Mystic Stylez is the debut album by the American hip hop group Three 6 Mafia, released in 1995. The album is known for its dark, horrorcore-style lyrics and production, featuring haunting synthesizers, deep basslines, and ominous sampling. It was produced entirely by group member DJ Paul and Juicy J, who were both heavily influenced by horror films and the occult. The album's content includes themes of drug use, violence, and the supernatural, with songs like "Tear Da Club Up" and "Mystic Stylez" becoming underground classics. Despite being initially unsuccessful, the album has since become a cult classic and is credited as a major influence on Southern hip hop and horrorcore. Three 6 Mafia went on to become one of the most commercially successful and acclaimed hip hop groups of the 2000s, winning an Academy Award for their song "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from the movie Hustle & Flow.
